Scratchwood Station

Electricfox

On the outskirts of Scratchwood, about a mile, mile and a half from the station itself is the large freight yard and Traction Maintenence Depot, run by Carl Westwood who is to be found in his office near the entrance to the yard.

*Electricfox on his Pump Trolley and the Organoid enter the TMD after a frantic chase down the mainline.*

Electricfox: "Ha-ha! I have you now!"

*The Organoid stops and goes to bolt in the other direction, just as it does so the Pump Trolley comes alongside and Electricfox leaps from it onto the back of the Organoid which...predictably...bolts for it.*

*A Class 47 slowly shunts a failed Pendolino unit into the TMD.*

Carl: "ANOTHER failed Pendo? Why does Branson even bother? He should have stuck with the class 87s!"

*Carl sets to work trying to find the fault on the Pendolino as the 47 eases back out of the TMD and heads back to the MPD.*

*A Class 86 trundles into the yard hauling a furniture wagon containing a broken satellite. On the nearby WCML, a Newcastle-Southampton coal train passes by, Electricfox and Keab frantically drive it.*

Carl: Ah, you must be here on the Stratford steel train.
Charlie: Correct.
Carl: What are you doing driving this? And why is there a furniture wagon?
Charlie: The furniture wagon is bound for Wembley, though I can tell the government to change for Stratford.
Carl: What furniture is in there?
Charlie: None. It's the satellite which fell through the roof this morning.
Carl: Oh that one.
Charlie: Yes. Anyway, where's the steel wagons?
Carl: Steel wagons? Oh yes. Them. There bound for Stratford Yards. You'll need to talk at the yards to Canary Wharf Group. It's for building projects over there.
Charlie: Indeed.

*A Class 81 shunts the steel wagons into the road. The 86 and wagon runs round them before coupling up to the 14 wagons.*

Charlie: Right away?
Carl: Not yet... you'll need to wait for the Thameslink to pass.
Charlie: Fine.
*The 8 car Class 319 EMU on a Brighton-Scratchwood service pass by. The signal changes to green. As a result, the throttle opens up on the 86 locomotive and the train proceeds towards the capitol.*
Charlie: See ya!
Carl: Yeah.

*The 16 vehicle train proceeds onto the up line, as Charlie adjusts the destination blinder to 'Stratford Yards'.*

*The A1X Terrier tank rattles across the points and into the yard.*

*Carl looks out from his office.*

Carl: "ROAD FIVE!!"

*Electricfox puts his thumb up and whistles in thanks.*

*The Terrier tank engine rattles across the points into road five where it couples up to a mixed goods service, and then with that distinctive Terrier 'bark', hauls the goods out of the yard and onto the main line.*

*Domino walks into the yard, wearing a black top and trousers.*

Electricfox: "Hsst!"

*Domino jumps and then turns around, Electricfox is hiding behind a class 20.*

Domino: "For gods sake! Why are you hiding?!"

*Electricfox puts and finger to his lips and then climbs up into the cab of the class 20, Domino follows him in puzzlement.*

Domino: "Now what?"

*Electricfox holds his finger to his lips again, and then pulls a key out of his pocket and starts up the class 20, he puts the throttle into notch one but leaves the reverser in neutral and the brakes on.*

Electricfox: "Ok, now we can talk...I hope..."
Domino: "What the hell is going on?"
Electricfox: "I think that Case 327 is at the station."
Domino: "327? But, she disappeared!"
Electricfox: "Exactly! If she is here...then surely HE can't be far behind!"
Domino: "And if HE'S here..."
Electricfox: "Yes...disaster..."
Domino: "What she doing here?"
Electricfox: "She calls herself 'Rose Beaching' claims to be Doctor Beechings grand-daughter."
Domino: "Who?"
Electricfox: "In this reality an inefficient politician who wound up kicked out of office, however, he's dangerous...in another reality he shut down a large portion of rail network and scrapped steam locomotives."
Domino: "You think that's the disaster?"
Electricfox: "I dunno...it's pretty low key for the Stormbringer..."

*A beeping noise overrides the noise of the class 20.*

Domino: "What's that?"
Electricfox: "Satcom five...it just picked up a return, two hundred thousand and closing. I've never seen those type of signals before..."
Domino: "Give me that!"

*Domino grabs the palmpad from Electricfox while he gets his mobile phone out and starts dialing.*

Electricfox: "Hello? Keab?"

*Electricfox hangs up.*

Electricfox: "Right, he's going to meet us at his lab!"
Domino: "He rebuilt it?"
Electricfox: "Well...sort of...Come on, let's go!"

*Electricfox switches the 20s engine off and removes the key, he climbs out of the cab and runs out of the yard, followed by Domino. Neither of them notice the blue police phone box which has appeared by the side of the yard.*

*Rose Beeching enters the yard, holding her sonic pen in front of her at arms length.*

Rose: AHA!

*She approaches the blue box and scans it.*

Rose: Excellent... those idiots at the station will have been scared to death by the name "Beeching"... and as for those involved with Torchwood... well... the name "Rose" should be enough to send them off on a wild goose chase after the Tyler girl... however, they'll find out the truth soon enough... time for plan B...

*Rose dials a number into her phone.*

Rose: General? My cover is blown... the staff know I am more than I appear to be... indeed unfortuante, but I have much better news... I have found him... or more precisely his Tardis... yes... with the Doctor's Tardis we have your biggest threat elluminated... the station staff? Well... might I suggest that your methods might be an easier option? Very well... I am ready.

*Rose hangs up. A blue light envelopes the tardis and rose and both vanish.*

*Electricfox and Domino run back in, both are carrying scanners.*

Electricfox: "This is the spot...do you remember seeing anything here?"
Domino: "No...no..."
Electricfox: "...wait...look up there?"

*Electricfox points upward, a CCTV camera is sitting on top of a pole watching them.*

Electricfox: "Where does that go?"
Domino: "Carls office?"

*Domino and Electricfox run to Carls office, they knock on the door but he's not in, so Electricfox looks around, plucks out his sonic pencil and opens the door.*

Domino: "What was that?"
Electricfox: "Nothing, you haven't seen it."
Domino: "Erm...yes I have...What IS it?"
Electricfox: "Is this really the time and the place?"
Domino: "....yes..."
Electricfox: (sighs) "If you must know it's a sonic pencil."
Domino: "What...like?"
Electricfox: "Yes, like the Sonic screwdriver and sonic pen...although it's not got as many functions...and the battery needs recharging alot...but other than that it's identical!"
Domino: "Where did you get it?"
Electricfox: "A friend in the past!"
Domino: "A friend?"
Electricfox: "Look, let's just get this done, alright?!"
Domino: (backs away defensively) "Alright, Alright!"

*Domino and Electricfox find the security office and rewind the CCTV tape. They view 'Rose Beeching' pointing her sonic pen at a blue police box, the sight of which causes Electricfox to fall backward into a nearby chair in shock, then she speaks on the phone and both the box and the woman disappear.*

Domino: "What was that all about?"
Electricfox: (stares at the screen) "..."
Domino: "Hell-oooo?"
Electricfox: "It's him...after all this time..."
Domino: "Are you going to let me in on this wonderful conversation you're having WITH YOURSELF?!!"
Electricfox: "We've got to get to the station, come on!"

*Electricfox gets up and runs out of the office.*

Domino: "I swear, if I didn't like him so much I'd..."

*Muttering under her breath, Domino follows him.*

*Charlie, in red overcoat, blue shirt, trousers and trainers arrives in the yard being chased. Keab, in his typical attire, follows suit. A blue laser bolt flies just over Keab's head and hits the fuel tank of a Class 66, which promptly explodes. Chris (in Cyberman form) walks in.*

CyberChris: I meant to do that. I also meant to delete you, and delete you I will. Delete, delete, delete!
Keab: Yeah yeah we know. You are so 2006 villain.
CyberChris: My army shall return in the future.
Charlie: You wish.
CyberChris: Just for that insult, you will be deleted first.
Charlie: Crap...
*The muppet in characteristically wierd clothing heads to a gap where the TARDIS dissapeared. The Doctor and Derek suddenly appear.*

Derek: OH CRAP! THEY'VE RE-TURNED FROM THE TIME PERIOD THE EX-PLO-SION SENT THEM TO!
Charlie: Well, I ended up on an epic voyage. Anyway...
Doctor: We were just leaving and... oh crap, Cybermen!
Charlie: No, Cyberman... it's just one.
Doctor: It's still trouble though.
CyberChris: My army is in the storage depot somewhere in the Welsh Mountains. They will be hear within the hour.
Charlie: Then me and Keab best leave before they arrive. Cheerio.
*Charlie then brings out his teleport and vanishes. Keab swiftly follows suit.*
Doctor: Anyway, Cyberman. You have nothing to conquer. So just go home.
CyberChris: Damn you to call my bluff. But I will be back in time to ruin Christmas.
Doctor: Oh yes, like that robot Santa that been ruins the holiday from 2801 to 12801 when it melts.
