*Cranes have been busy at the strange structure all through the night.*

*Electricfox wanders back to the lab to see what all the activity was about, only to find that something has now been attached to the structure...*

Electricfox: Impressive, I didn't think you had it in you.

Keab42: Well when the orders come from that high up you get it right.

Electricfox: Still to build that in such a short space of time, must have taken some effort...

Keab42: Well, I cut a few corners and immprovised in places.

Electricfox: Yeah, about that...

Keab42: Yes?

Electricfox: Why did you make it from a Reliant Robin?

Keab42: It's pointy.

Electricfox: ...

Keab42: Like a shuttle.

Electricfox: This is not going to end well.

*Charlie is returning from a trip to a tailors in Scratchwood when he looks up at the structure where a Reliant Robin dressed as a spaceship is awaiting launch.*
Charlie: Oh dear... this is not going to end well... what made him think this could possibly work?

*Charlie shrugs and walks on towards the station.*

*At the lab the entire gang has assembled*

Matt (hiding behind Derek): I'm still not sure this is safe.
Keab: Perfectly safe, you've all got your hi-vis jackets and hard hats on. No harm can come to you.
Electricfox: Hi-vis jackets do not repel explosions.
Keab: But they do allow us to find the remains afterwards.
Matt: Wonderful.
Keab: Come on, wait until you see inside!
Electricfox: Inside? It's a bloody Reliant Robin, what is there to see inside that we haven't seen before?
Charlie (Sticking his head through the open car door): Seats for 3 pilots, a coat rack and what appears to be a mini-bar
Electricfox: What?! Let me see!

*Electricfox sticks his head through the open doorway only to see an interior that is much larger than the exterior*

Electricfox: What have you done?!
Keab: I figured the problem with getting a spaceship into orbit is weight. But weight isn't a factor if most of it is in another dimension. And if you're doing that, well you may as well add some comfort for the pilots.
Electricfox: How?!
Keab: Certain uppity time-travelling aliens need to learn not to park their extra-dimensional spaceships near to curious scientists. First chance I've had to get it working though...
Electricfox: If he finds out.....
Keab: Relax, he won't now who wants a tour of the inside?
Matt: Will it explode?
Charlie: Seems safe enough

*Charlie climbs in followed by the rest of the gang*

Keab: Now this is the cockpit, back there are the crew quarters and gymnasium as well as the weapons lockers...

*The exterior door clangs shut and red warning lights begin to flash*

Matt: I do not like the look of this....
Keab (trying the door): Odd, it seems to be stuck.
Derek: I SENSE ROC-KET FU-EL!
Keab: Not good!

*A voice appears over the internal speakers*

Voice: Launch in T Minus 5 minutes and counting

Matt: I really do not like the sound of this!
Keab: This is not good....
Matt: LET ME OUT!

*Meanwhile in the control room next to the lab Agent Sparrow is pressing controls rapidly*

Domino: I hope he's going to be safe.
Sparrow: He's knows what he's doing.
Domino: I just wish we could have told them. Did we get all of them on board?
Sparrow: Most of them, I hope that's enough...

Voice: T Minus 3 minutes and counting....

Narrator: Will our heroes escape or will they find themselves at the mercy of a mad scientists latest invention? Tune in tomorrow to find out why I'm still here....

Matt: Somebody shut him up and get me out of here!

*Matt is in his usal spot cowering under the table.*

Matt: WE'RE GOING TO DIE!!!

Derek: Master! I have remembered something! I have a message from the puny human known as Daniel!

Matt: Now really isn't the time, Derek...

Derek: The human has bought us a replacement motive power unit for the movement rolling stock around the station!

Matt: ...you mean he's got us a new station pilot?

Derek: Correct!

Matt: What about my Jinty?!?

Derek: He is taking it away!

Matt: WHAT?!?

*Matt climbs out from under the table and starts hammering on the door.*

Matt: Open up! Don't let that meddling idiot take away my baby!!!

*Keab and Electricfox strap themselves into the pilot seats quickly*

Domino: "Final launch sequence checks are complete. Good luck."

Keab: "I think I forgot something...."
Electricfox: "What?"
Keab: "I dunno, it's probably nothing."

Domino: "Begin ignition sequence...20, 19, "

Keab: *clicks fingers* "Oh god! Now I remember!"
Electricfox: "What?"
Keab: "Where is it?"
Domino: "...18, 17, 16..."
Electricfox: "WHAT?"
Keab: "We can't lift off without it!"
Domino: "..15, 14..."
Electricfox: "We've gotta abort!"
Domino: "...13, 12..."
Keab: *Pulls a small disc out of his pocket.* "No! No, wait, I've found it!"
Domino: "...11, 10, 9, 8, 7..."

*Keab puts the small disc into a slot near his console.*

Keab: "Let's rock and roll!"
Domino: "...6..."

*Domino winces in the control room as 'Magic Carpet Ride' by Steppenwolf suddenly blares through the speakers.*

Keab: There's something I should tell you guys, Torchwood didn't trust the pilots they were sending on this mission so they had me install an auto-pilot. Next stop... Mars!

*Somewhere between the ground and space, the whole cabin is shaking*

Electricfox: "Could you turn that down a little?!"

*Keab switches the music off*

Electricfox: "Hey, we've got a red light on the...second intake valve."

*Keab flicks the light a couple of times and then hits it. It stays on.*

Keab: "Ignore it! We'll be fine! Prepare for first stage shutdown and seperation on my mark!"

Electricfox: "BECO roger."

Keab: "Three...two...one...mark!"

*Electricfox hits a couple of buttons hesitantly. There is a clang and the Solid Fuel Booster rockets fly off in seperate directions.*

Electricfox: "MECO?"
Keab: "Roger, we are go for Main Engine Cut-off."

*The Shuttle engines begin throttling back to sixty-five percent. Seven seconds later they are shut down completely. The cabin receives zero gravity for a brief moment until the ships artificial gravity kicks in.*

Keab: "Moving to pitch down position, ET seperation in three...two...one...mark!"

*Electricfox shuts his eyes and stabs another button. The External tank is released and begins its fall back to Earth. By this time the ship is over seventy miles above the Earth.*

Keab: "Ok, let's bring the sublight core online...."

*He flicks some buttons, then looks out of the window at Earth receding behind them.*

Keab: "Oh...wow..."
Electricfox: "You ain't seen nothing yet!"

*Electricfox looks over some controls.*

Electricfox: "Plasma injectors are online, Nacelles are charged and ready!Everything's looking good...I think we're ready!"

Keab: "Let's do it...Engage!"

*The ship points towards Mars and picks up speed.*

Keab: "ETA...sometime in the next twenty-four hours...autopilot is on and functioning...as if we needed it!"
Electricfox: "Speak for yourself! I think I hit the right buttons...still...at least we can go and get a drink now..."

Keab: Er... correct in essentials.

Derek: HOW DO YOU THINK THAT WOULD BE POSS-IBLE WHEN WE HAVE DE-PARTED THE GR-OUND?

*Outside the windows the surface of the Earth can be seen, the cities glowing a deathly orange in the darkness with sunlight peeking it's way across from the American horizon.*

Charlie: Nice... so we are effectively involuntarily chosen to go to Mars.
Matt: GOD DAMMIT! NOW SURELY PEOPLE WILL LOOT MY CAFE!

*Keab alters an equation on his blackboard then picks up a pair of beakers and mix them back together.*

Keab: Hmmm... last time they simply fizzed weakly. I wonder if...

Keab: Oh how ***king predictable.

*On the road, Charlie can be seen with a piano hammering out piano chords.*
Charlie: And this is the end. The end! This is the eeeeeennnnddddd! Of the wwwwoooorrrrllllddddd!
