The Station Master's Office - a room which probably hasn't been used since the 1860s. Mattaf recently discovered the key to this room on a his set of keys and curiosity led him to take a look inside...
With some redecorating, this room could one day become Matt's seat of power! If he gets round to redecorating that is... _________________ Mattaf, Station Master

*A key jangles in the lock and the door opens with a loud creak. A pile of junk falls out of the room, covering Rose Beeching and Matt in dust.*
Matt: *Cough* Oh... yes, it would appear that I do have an office!
Rose: *Cough* Perhaps we should return to the refreshment room after all?
Matt: That's probably not a bad idea.
*Matt closes and locks the door.*
Matt: Must get round to clearing that room out... _________________ Mattaf, Station Master

*Unbenknowst to everyone, Charlie has refurbished the Station Master's office. Charlie is inside it fiddling with a Guitar Hero controller.*
Charlie: A blue and orange chord there, 3 green and red chords there, 4 orange switches and then a final long yellow and blue to finish. Ok, that's a perfect one.
*Charlie finishes creating a prog rock song in the studio in the new Guitar Hero World Tour game called "Poisoned Words.*
Charlie: All done. Right, what else to do.
*The office has a new desk which has a laptop, a bank of CCTV screens, a small vase full of flowers, a globe and an in/out mail folder on it. A pair of filing cabinets sit either side of the desk. A TV stands on one side above a Playstation 3, a VCR/DVD player and a 90s Nintendo console (only the PS3 is plugged in). On the other wall is the window, and also a threat detection unit. The only C&X logos are on the Guitar Hero controllers and the door.*
Charlie: All done well I think.
*Charlie turns of the TV then picks up the latest of 7 newspapers preserved from the start of the office clean up.*
Charlie: So, this was from 1967. Hmm. "Last week's Dhahran meteor has had a extremely severe impact on oil supplies with the OPEC jacking up prices to high levels. The meteor strike has blockaded oil supplies from the United Arab Emirates and Oman from reaching the pipes towards Turkey, Europe and the USA. Prime Minister Wilson and recently re-elected US President Lyndon Johnson are to discuss the crisis with the United Nations. The USA are trying to secure themselves supplies in their battle to try and mantain a lead over the USSR whose oil and gas supplies are largely unaffected by the crisis." Seems a lot like these days if we're honest...
*Matt walks in and see what his office has become.*
Matt: What the hell have you been up to now?
Charlie: Decorating your office.
Matt: Into your dream office! What's wrong with yours?!?
Charlie: I lost my keys after locking the door. I was going to leave this place alone but the decorator I hired insisted!
Matt: What decorator?
Charlie: A local decorator I know. Owns a business on Scratchwood High Street, bailed out by our finance lot after Barclays tried to shut him down.
Matt: Didn't C&X sell there financial business?
Charlie: Just sold it to Americans for 750 million which we donated to charities.
Matt: Very nice gesture. Anyway, why does this look more like what you'd want?
Charlie: I honestly don't know.
Matt: That's helpful. Anyway, I'd love to stay and talk but some of us have a Station Inspector to deal with!
Charlie: Is he still here?
Matt: He won't leave until he fails us.
Charlie: Surely he shouldn't bother coming if he's just going to fail us.
Matt: It's called hypocrisy and he lives on it.
Charlie: True.
*Matt walks out while Charlie finishes off uploading the song then leaves, holding a bottle of Dalek polish.* _________________ Charles, PA Announcer and light show guy (and owner of C&X Group). |
